Atlanta Parking Guide
Atlanta is the capital of and the most populous city in the U.S. state of Georgia. Atlanta is the cultural and economic center of the Atlanta metropolitan area and the ninth largest metropolitan area in the country. Atlanta was established in 1837 at the intersection of two railroad lines, and the city rose from the ashes of the Civil War to become a national center of commerce.
Effective November 1, 2009, the City of Atlanta started a new program to modernize parking management offering a wide range of technologies and services to Atlanta. With PARKatlanta, now various forms of payment, including coins, bills, and credit cards are accepted. Other improvements being introduced by PARKatlanta include enhanced customer service options for motorists who receive parking tickets to pay fines securely and easily online or by calling 1-888-266-1360.
Parking regulations in the city have been enforced by trained personnel commissioned by the City to apply the law uniformly and to treat all people equally. Motorists can expect fair treatment and service from all enforcement and customer service personnel associated with the PARKatlanta program.
Atlanta has about 2,500 regulated on-street parking spaces within the City, offered via parking meters and time-limited parking areas. The metered spaces are controlled by single space meters and parking pay stations. On-street metered parking spaces offer visitors short-term parking while they shop, dine and conduct business. Most regulated spaces are located in the core business districts and surrounding areas, including:
The City of Atlanta has a number of areas where on-street parking is time limited. The timed parking makes it more convenient and less expensive to visit the City of Atlanta.
Parking Rates in Atlanta Single space parking meters accept quarters, dimes and nickels. The new multi-space parking meters accept the same coins as single space but also accept credit card (Visa and MasterCard) as well bills. Most parking meters are $2.00 per hour.

The citation may be voided pending verification that the broken meter was reported.
